What is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)?

OCD is a chronic, brain disorder which creates distress from obsessive thought patterns. To alleviate distress, OCD drives individuals to complete physical (i.e. hand washing, checking, over-explaining, etc.) and/or mental (recounting events of the day, replacing words in a sentence, reciting phrases internally in response to potential harm, etc.) rituals in hopes of diminishing the uncertainty.

How can I help?

I am certified in providing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) by the Cognitive Behavior Institute and receive ongoing supervision.  I support client's in obtaining control and understanding of their OCD. I support clients through the use of exposures in which they learn how to tolerate distress and lean into uncertainty. As I have OCD myself, I understand the pain and challenges associated with challenging rituals that have guided your life for many years. I lead with compassion as I challenge obsessions and compulsions alongside of you.
